Event: Indigenous Food Movement Dinner with Mariah Gladstone

The Arts Council of Big Sky is bringing celebrated culinary expert and food advocate Mariah Gladstone to Big Sky for a special evening focused on the Indigenous Food Movement. This unique event will feature a hands-on cooking experience and shared meal prepared entirely from foods native to North America.
Throughout the evening, guests will learn about the history of Indigenous food systems and the relationship between food, cultural identity, and health while helping prepare a delicious and nutritious dinner. The meal will not include processed foods, preservatives, wheat flour, dairy, or sugar. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available.
Mariah Gladstone, Piikuni (Blackfeet) and Tsalagi (Cherokee), grew up in Northwest Montana on and near the Blackfeet Reservation. She is the founder of Indigikitchen, an online platform dedicated to revitalizing and reimagining Native foods, and has become a leading voice in Indigenous food advocacy. Mariah has shared her work across North America and internationally, appeared on the Today Show and CBC, and is the author of Mountains to Oceans: Kids' Recipes from Native Land.
Tickets are $100 per person and include all ingredients, supplies, and a special handmade bowl created by the Arts Council's pottery studio staff. Space is limited to 20 participants.
