Celebrate creativity at the 2026 Big Sky Artisan Festival, a full day dedicated to local and regional artists, live entertainment, hands-on demonstrations, and community. Stroll through more than 70 artist booths featuring painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodworking, textiles, and other fine handcrafted goods while enjoying live music, performances from the Lesser Known Collective, and a variety of local food and beverage vendors.
Throughout the day, step inside the Big Sky Center for the Arts (77 Lone Peak Drive) to experience live artist demonstrations, interactive activities, and the NACQJ Quilting Challenge Quilt Display.
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Mountain Makers
Presented by the Gallatin Canyon Women's Club, Mountain Makers will host quilting activities throughout the day, inviting visitors of all ages to participate in community quilting projects.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Shannon Brennan
Watch ACBS stained glass instructor Shannon Brennan demonstrate the soldering process, where individually cut pieces of glass are transformed into a finished stained glass artwork. Learn about the craftsmanship behind this centuries-old art form and see each step come together in real time.
12:00 – 1:00 PM | Sierra Hooge
Join ACBS Studio Manager Sierra Hooge for a live wheel-throwing demonstration and discover the techniques behind creating pottery on the wheel.
1:00 – 2:00 PM | Kate Huston
Artist and ACBS workshop instructor Kate Huston will demonstrate her collage process and invite visitors to participate in creating their own collaborative artwork.
2:00 – 3:00 PM | Brinley Neilson
Learn the art of soft soldering as artist and instructor Brinley Neilson demonstrates how metal and found objects are transformed into unique handcrafted pieces.
3:00 – 4:00 PM | Alyvia Schoener
Help create a community quilt by designing and cutting appliqué pieces that will become part of a collaborative quilt square. This interactive activity, presented with ScrapHouse, also highlights creative ways to reduce textile waste through upcycled art.
4:00 – 5:00 PM | John Piacquadio
Artist, fly fishing guide, and art educator John Piacquadio shares his unique approach to painting handcrafted flies using brushes made from naturally harvested deer and elk hair. His work explores themes of fly fishing, mindfulness, addiction recovery, and the natural world, demonstrating how personal experience and craft come together through art.
